ACUMEN Vice President of Operations Mark Ownby recently returned from the annual SAP Innovation Summit held at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando April 18-20. ACUMEN is always represented at these events since so much information on product design and direction is provided during a very compact schedule. This year was no exception.
First of all (and great news for our SAP clients) recently released Version 9.3 of SAP Business One is one of the most stable and field ready releases in recent memory based upon beta and thorough pre-release testing.
Other areas that caused a buzz around the conference were sessions on:
- Further integration with Microsoft Office 365
- Big data analytics utilizing Microsoft Excel reporting
- A move towards more application of artificial intelligence
- More comprehensive development on data security including EU GDPR compliance
According to Mark there was a:
“…focus on Digital Transformation of the entire business – The ERP is the ‘digital hub’ with Internet of Things, Mobile, e-Commerce/Social Media, Chatbots, etc. all connecting to provide UX and data for users to consume.”
As you can tell the Innovation Summit is aptly named.
